Everything you always wanted to know
about running an ACUI Recreation
Tournament – but didn’t know to ask!

Presented at Augusta, October 2008

Looking for a way to provide students with a development opportunity? We have a great idea. The Association of College Unions International has a program for campus to international level recreation events. These events can provide myriad possibilities for student learning. We know that academics play the biggest role on most campuses but we also need programs that develop the students self esteem, organizational skills and people skills to make a well-rounded successful graduate. As part of the recreation tournament, we can offer competition in the following events (categories will vary by host school):

  • Bowling
  • Billiards/9-Ball
  • Table Tennis
  • Racquetball
  • Rock, Paper, Scissors
  • Dance Dance Revolution
  • Madden Challenge
  • and others!
Please share this information with everyone at your institution who may be involved with the sports listed above. With your assistance and enthusiasm, we can continue to develop a successful regional tournament. It is a good deal of work, but a great deal of FUN!
